Celebrating the Jubilee

With the Jubilee celebrations approaching, decorations and similar themed items and attire have started to appear around the town and local villages. Patriotic household goods adorn the shop windows and Union Flags drape the front of buildings. Even Union Flagged dresses can be found in the windows of designer boutiques. Geri Halliwell eat your heart out!

It seems everyone is beginning to get into the spirit of the Jubilee. So I thought ‘why not me?’ and decided to research the available crochet and knitting patterns and items available for a Jubilee-themed celebration. Here are a few of the things which I found…

These gorgeous crocheted Mary Janes are available from etsy.com and were handmade by Suze Cooper. View the entire shop here

I love this Union Jack shopper! The colours differ from the usual red, white and blue and I think the hearts give it a lovely feminine look. The pattern is available for free here.

This lovely Royal Cushion is also a free knitting pattern available from knitrowan.com.

What Jubilee-themed items have you been making? If I was quicker at crochet (or good at knitting) I’d take a go at the union jack shopper for the celebrations – heck it won’t be ready in time but I may just make it any way! Another project to add to the list!

Have fun celebrating everyone!

The baby shoes are adorable. It’s given me an idea to make a 4th of July set!
